I think they're called leopard seals and they are the number one predator of the emperors. They've also been known to take down divers--something about wet suits looking a lot like penguin fur. Scary as hell.
can't tell you why, but this one has caught my attention too. maybe it's becase the annimation isn't cartoony like every. other. cgi kids movie out there right now.

I can't tell you how many divers I've seen get pulled to a watery grave by leopard seals.
